B1 Device Driver Kit (subdirectory: B1-DDK) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The B1 Device Driver Kit (DDK) contains B1 LLI (Low Level Interface) and Winword files describing the technical features of the AVM ISDN-Controller B1 and the LLI functions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Developer! The AVM ISDN-Controller B1 is one of the most powerful and popular active ISDN-Controllers on the market today. The B1 offers a stable platform for professional users, who require performance, power and reliability. Currently AVM provides COMMON-ISDN-API 2.0 drivers for DOS, Windows 3.x/WfW, Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Novell NetWare 3.x/4.x/5.x, OS/2 and LINUX. The flexible hardware architecture of the B1 controller makes developing drivers for other operating systems easy. The complete ISDN-protocol software stack is executed "on board" the B1 controller, via a downloadable file. This of course means that the same protocol stack is used, regardless of the operating system. This approved ISDN protocol stack, guarantees ISDN communication of the very highest standard, the hallmark of all AVM products, in every environment. AVM is continually developing and enhancing these drivers in accordance with the CAPI guidelines. The newest drivers are distributed via the Internet and AVMs Data Call Center (ADC). This on-going process reduces the costs of developing a new driver, making it necessary to develop only the operating system dependent modules. The complete handling of the ISDN-line is performed by the driver on the controller. AVM provides a development kit (Low Level Interface Kit) for all interested parties, which includes all of the information necessary for driver development. Prerequisite is an application development kit from AVM. The application development kit is available from AVMs FTP site (ftp.avm.de) and from the AVM Data Call Center (++49-30-399 84 300), using the 'Connect' tool, in the developer section.
